Detailed information

Insurance Coverage – Analysis and Litigation:

We have developed an expertise in assisting insurers with coverage questions, including but not limited to duty to defend and duty to indemnify. Interpreting insurance policies and rendering opinions on coverage, a carrier´s duty to defend or indemnify, and deciding other insurance contract related issues requires attorneys experienced in the insured´s particular field of expertise.

Extensive experience in a wide range of practice areas is the basis for selecting Hatcher & Tebo to perform coverage opinions or to challenge denials of insurance coverage. The firm has a broad based practice area in policy interpretation on behalf of carriers and also works with excess carriers, as many of our clients are self-insured companies with large self-insured retentions.

Insurance Defense:

Insurance defense work constitutes a significant part of Hatcher Law Group’s practice. We are fully equipped to litigate cases ranging from relatively minor or routine automobile accident cases in magistrate court, to wrongful death or products liability cases involving complex multi-million-dollar claims before state or federal courts and having the potential to forge new law.

Worker’s Compensation:

Hatcher Law Group brings nearly three decades of experience handling cases in the New Mexico Worker’s Compensation system, appearing before the Workers’ Compensation Administration and handling claims appealed from the Administration up through consideration by the New Mexico Supreme Court.

The firm is on contract with the State of New Mexico Risk Management Division for representation of state agencies before the Administration, as well as the New Mexico Association of Counties and New Mexico Self-Insurers Fund.

Construction:

We are experienced in handling all matters arising out of a construction project, so defending an insured under an insurance policy is a typical part of our practice. We have the experience necessary to represent an insured on all claims relating to construction projects, construction defects, or alleged architect or engineering malpractice claims.

We are experienced in evaluating the rights and liabilities of owners, lenders, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, sureties, insurers and design professionals. We also are experienced in matters concerning surety and performance bonds, contracts and warranty obligations.

Employment:

We represent management in labor and employment cases, including but not limited to wage and hour laws, breaches of contract, retaliatory actions, workplace privacy, employment discrimination matters, wrongful discharge litigation, and other matters that arise from employment relationships. Hatcher Law Group represents their clients in these and other areas of employment-based law in Federal and State courts, and before administrative agencies.

General Litigation:

Hatcher Law Group’s litigation practice deals with all areas of injury and damages, including but not limited to physical injuries, emotional and psychiatric injuries and other losses arising from these areas. We focus on routine auto torts, trucking accidents, premises liability claims, including slip and falls and intentional tort claims.

Real Property:

Trespass, nuisance, adverse possession, easements, condemnations, eminent domain—Hatcher Law Group, assist their clients with issues in these and other areas of real estate litigation and non-litigation forums, in both residential and commercial settings. We can assist with land-use and zoning matters and related administrative hearings.
